A Memorable Family Getaway at Altnaharra HotelWe recently stayed at the Altnaharra Hotel, and it was just what our family needed after a long drive through the Highlands on a windy night. Upon arrival, we were welcomed like family, despite the chilly weather. The cosy lounges were perfect for unwinding after our journey, and the warmth of the fireplace provided a lovely backdrop as we chatted with fellow guests. Our room, while large and beautifully decorated, truly felt like home. The comfortable beds ensured we got a good night’s sleep. Our mornings were made special by the sight of a stag in the garden! The hotel has excellent family-friendly activities, like fishing trips arranged to the nearby Strathmore and Naver rivers. We did some birdwatching too – spotting magnificent birds of prey was a thrill. Kid-friendly dining options made mealtimes pleasant, and the staff, particularly Valentine, were attentive and made sure we felt right at home. For a family retreat in Scotland, it’s hard to beat this lovely destination.
